Serrated Tortoise

The Serrated Tortoise (Psammobates oculifer) is very unique-looking. It is often referred to as the geometric tortoise because of its neat shell patterns! But it is a part of the same family as the geometric tortoise, and the two are separate turtle species. It is a part of the family of tortoises, Testudinidae. The Serrated tortoise is a part of the genus, Psammobates. This genus has only three species, the Serrated, Tent and Geometric tortoise - these are all very cool looking turtles.

Though it was common to separate turtles from tortoises, since these turtle species do not dwell in the water, tortoises are still turtles.
