Title
Consonants, Colors, and Pictures Gymnastics
OverviewThe purpose of this lesson is to be able to identify certain consonants (B, D, F, G, H, K, L, M, N, P, R, S, and T), produce their sound, identify the color of the said consonant, choose animals and things that start with the said consonants, identify other words starting with the said consonants, practice their spelling and writing skills, and ability to use those words in sentences.

Objectives Students will be able to:
  1. Recognize the cutout consonants (B, D, F, G, H, K, L, M, N, P, R, S, and T) from the box and be able to produce their sounds.
  2. Identify the color used in the said consonant.
  3. Choose from the cutout pictures of animals and things that start with the consonant taken from another box.
  4. Name other words that start with the said consonants and should be able to write them properly with the correct spelling.
  5. Use one of these words effectively in a sentence.
Materials1. One small box with the cutout of consonants (B, D, F, G, H, K, L, M, N, P, R, S, and T) using colored papers.
2. Chalk board
3. Box containing cutout pictures of animals and things starting with consonants B, D, F, G, H, K, L, M, N, P, R, S, and T
4. Small pieces of paper (to write more words)
5. Sticky tack or masking tape
6. Strips of papers (to write sentences)

Activity1. Children will name the consonants they picked from the box and stick them on the board using the sticky tack.
2. Children will produce the sound of the said consonant.
3. Children will identify the color used for the said consonant.
4. Children will choose from cutout pictures of animals and things the one that start with the consonant that was picked from the box and put them on the board under the said consonant using the sticky tack.
5. Children will think of other words that begin with the said consonant.
6. Children will take turns writing the words on the small pieces of paper provided and stick them on the side of the consonant and pictures that are already on the board.
7. Children will write a sentence on the strip of paper provided, using a word that was already identified and stick the said paper strip on the side of the said word.
ConclusionEvaluation:
Children will be evaluated on the quality of their participation (identifying the consonant picked from the consonant cutouts from the box, produce the sound of the said consonant, and identity the color used for the said consonant cutout), on the neatness of their writing on the pieces of paper, correct spelling, and the accuracy and neatness of their written sentences.
Home Work Extension1. Think of words starting with vowels A, E, I, O, and U.
2. Cutout pictures of animals and things that start with the said vowels.
3. Use the enumerated words in a sentence.
