Once a chameleon is pregnant, she will lay her eggs soon, and so, she must find the perfect hole to dig! Depending on the species of chameleon, eggs take between 4 and 12 months to hatch! She will dig this hole very, very deep in the ground.

Chameleons can often have over 20 babies in one period (called a clutch). Talk about a full house! Once a baby chameleon breaks through the membrane and shell of the egg, it is out in the world to start its life!
