Two of the largest and most famous cities in Brazil are Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. Rio de Janeiro is an extremely popular tourist resort and the cultural capital of Brazil. One of the most famous parts of this city is the Christ the Redeemer statue. Similarly, Rio is famous for it’s beaches and party atmosphere. Sao Paulo is a growing city with a lively scene in most everything. Nightlife, cafes and architecture all have a place in the city.

Various other large cities exist across the country. Brasilia is the capital of Brazil having replaced Rio de Janeiro. The city was a planned construction on the plains of central Brazil and was designed purely to be the capital of Brazil, especially for government and administration purposes. Another interesting city is Manaus. On the Amazon river in the North of Brazil, it can be isolated from the rest of the country. Despite this, the city is extremely popular with eco-tourists looking to experience the unique ecosystems of the Amazon rainforest.
